How to Block Spam Email
In the Internet age there’s nothing worse than opening up your email program to locate that you have 74 new messages - and they’re all spam. We can all agree that to block spam email is to live a better life. But how do you block spam email? It seems like it’s everywhere! There are a couple of things you can to block spam email and they’re comparatively simple. Primary, you have to keep in mind that your email address is much like your phone number; if you keep it unlisted, it’s easier to avoid telemarketers. One easy trick is to actually open the spam. The initial step to block spam email is to be protective of your email address. Beware, not every spam email has such a link, so read carefully before clicking on any link. But let’s assume it’s too late for that - you need to block spam email, spam email you can’t avoid.
One time open, lots of these emails will have many hyperlinks to other sites - that’s what you need to avoid. If you still need to block spam email, many free sites offer spam filters. If you’ve been using an email address that you got from your Internet service, switch over to a web-based service. If you’re using a web-based service, switch to another one. Only give it out to people you know and reputable businesses. Ensure you let your friends, co-workers and family knows about the switch - or at least the ones that you like! A good rule of thumb: a business you’ve heard of outside of the Internet is possibly a trustworthy business. The link well takes you off of their mailing list if you read closely.
I know, I know, it’s much easier and safer to delete, but we’re trying to block spam email here, not just avoid it. A few of these filters block spam email better than others, so shop around, or better yet, ask your friends and co-workers if they found one that works for them. However, many also have a link at the very bottom of the email message. If the spam filters, mailing list elimination and keeping your email private doesn’t work to block email spam, there’s one last step you can try: get a new email address! That doesn’t mean that all Internet businesses are disreputable, it just increases the odds that they are. Following those two steps should block spam email nearly completely.
